Fristam Pumps has launched the FDS Nano Twin Screw Pump, officially introduced in January 2025 as the world’s smallest double screw pump. This new development was created in direct response to industry demand for a compact, hygienic, and cost-effective solution that could both pump and dose. Traditional twin screw pumps, while versatile, have been too large and uneconomical for low-volume dosing. The FDS Nano fills this long-standing gap by combining accuracy, efficiency, and flexibility in a much smaller package.
Product Features and USP’s:
The FDS Nano has been engineered to deliver powerful performance despite its size. It can pump fluids with viscosities up to 1 million cP, manage up to 70% air in the line without air locking, and dose with remarkable accuracy at up to 70 shots per minute. Thanks to its axial movement, it operates with almost no pulsation, making it ideal for sensitive applications. Cleaning is also fast and thorough, as the pump is CIP-ready with flow rates of 3 m³/h and speeds up to 4,000 rpm. Designed from high-grade stainless steel, the Nano features tight tolerances, robust seals, and flexible couplings, ensuring long life and compliance with strict hygiene standards. Unlike traditional systems that often require multiple machines for pumping, dosing, and cleaning, the FDS Nano delivers all these capabilities in a single unit.
Industry Benefits:
For customers, the FDS Nano provides clear benefits. Its compact design saves space while reducing unloading and dosing times, resulting in higher throughput and faster production cycles. Its gentle and pulse-free operation preserves the integrity of delicate fluids, ensuring consistent product quality. The reduced need for separate equipment leads to lower investment and maintenance costs. Additionally, its efficient cleaning process supports sustainability by reducing water and chemical usage in cleaning cycles.
Industrial Application Usages:
The FDS Nano is designed for a wide range of industries where hygiene and precision are essential. In the food and beverage sector, it is suited for dosing syrups, flavorings, and additives with high accuracy. In pharmaceutical production, it ensures the gentle handling of sensitive formulations like protein and immunoglobulins. The cosmetic and personal care industry can rely on it for smooth transfer of creams, lotions, and liquid products, while the chemical sector benefits from its reliable handling of viscous and shear-sensitive materials.
Technical Capacity of FDS Nano:
Technical highlights underline the Nano’s innovation. It delivers discharge pressure of up to 10 bar, product flow rates between 5 and 500 L/h, and can handle viscosities from 0.5 to 1 million cP. With the ability to manage particles up to 12 mm and reach speeds of 4,000 rpm, it combines performance with precision. Connections are available in DN 10–40 mm with tri-clamp options, and its patented design ensures pulse-free dosing and straightforward maintenance.
Future Roadmap:
By introducing the FDS Nano, Fristam strengthens its global portfolio and sets a new standard in dosing technology. Compact yet powerful, the FDS Nano is expected to expand its footprint in Packaging & Filling Industries wherein food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and chemical industries considerable. Moreover, it can be replaceable to gear pump, diaphragm pump and Pedestal pump. Considering to flavor industries; wherein low-capacity dosing requires we can expand capacity of FDS Nano in that area also. The pump is now available for demonstrations and customer trials, offering industries the chance to experience this innovation firsthand.
